01 — Start the Conversation

Give us a call, send us an email, or fill out our contact form to get the conversation going. During this phase, we’ll discuss your goals, budget range, timeline, and the scope of your landscape project. We’ll utilize any information and photos you provide to review the property to understand existing conditions such as grading, drainage, sunlight, and site access.

02 — Site Analysis + Project Planning

We conduct a detailed site analysis to assess soil conditions, topography, utilities, drainage, and existing vegetation. This information informs feasibility, design constraints, and long-term performance of the landscape.

Based on this analysis, we define the project scope, confirm priorities, and outline next steps for design and permitting if required.

03 — Concept Design

We develop an initial concept design that addresses layout, circulation, plantings, hardscape elements, and overall functionality. Concept designs may include diagrams, preliminary plans, and reference imagery to communicate the direction clearly.

Client feedback is incorporated before advancing to detailed design.

04 — Design Development & Selections

Once the concept is approved, we refine the design into detailed plans suitable for construction. This includes finalizing materials, plant selections, dimensions, and technical details.

At this stage, we also confirm budgets, timelines, and any phasing required to complete the project efficiently.

05 — Permitting & Pre-Construction (If Applicable)

If permits or approvals are required, we prepare documentation and coordinate with local jurisdictions as needed. We also finalize construction schedules, order materials, and prepare the site for installation.

This phase can be disruptive and time-intensive, particularly when permits, reviews, or approvals are required. While reviews and approvals may extend timelines, completing this work upfront helps avoid costly interruptions during installation.

06 — Construction & Installation

Our team manages the construction process from start to finish. This includes site preparation, grading, hardscape installation, planting, irrigation, and finishing details.

We oversee all work to ensure it aligns with the approved design, meets quality standards, and respects the site throughout construction.

07 — Project Completion & Walkthrough

Once installation is complete, we conduct a final walkthrough to review the project, address any outstanding items, and ensure everything meets expectations.

We also provide guidance on care, maintenance, and next steps as the landscape establishes.

08 — Ongoing Care & Future Planning

Landscapes evolve over time. We offer guidance on maintenance, seasonal care, and future enhancements to support the long-term success of the project.

Our goal is to create landscapes that perform well, age gracefully, and continue to add value to your property.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in the Atlanta area?

Yes. LOVE LAND serves metro Atlanta and the greater Southeastern United States. If you’re unsure whether your property is in our service area, send your address and we’ll confirm.

What areas do you serve in metro Atlanta?

We regularly work across the metro region (including intown neighborhoods and surrounding suburbs). Project fit depends on scope, site conditions, and schedule availability.

Do you offer a landscape design consultation? What happens during it?

Yes. The consultation is the first step. We’ll discuss goals, budget range, timeline, and how you use your outdoor space. We’ll also review key site factors like sun/shade, drainage, grading, and access.

Do you provide design-only services, or do you also build the project?

We offer both design-only and design-build, depending on the project. For design-build, we manage the project through construction so the installed work matches the approved plans.

How long does the landscape design process take?

Most projects move through design in phases. Timelines vary based on complexity, revisions, permitting/HOA reviews, and material availability. After the initial consult, we provide a projected schedule for design and (if applicable) construction.

What should I budget for a landscape project in metro Atlanta?

Budgets vary widely based on grading/drainage needs, hardscape scope, plant sizes, material selections, and access to the site. We’ll discuss budget early and help prioritize scope so the design aligns with your investment level.

Do you handle permitting and HOA approvals?

When required, we can provide drawings and documentation to support permitting and HOA/architectural review. Requirements vary by municipality and neighborhood. We’ll advise what’s typically needed for your project scope.

Can you help with drainage, grading, and erosion issues?

Yes. Many metro-Atlanta properties deal with runoff, clay soil, slope challenges, and standing water. We evaluate drainage and grading early so the design addresses performance—not just appearance.

What’s included in a final landscape design package?

Depending on scope, design packages may include a site plan, planting plan, hardscape layout, material selections, and notes suitable for installation. If you choose design-build, the plans also guide accurate pricing and scheduling.

Do you offer landscape maintenance?

We provide this ongoing service to our installation clients. Maintenance needs depend on plant selections, irrigation, and seasonal conditions in the Southeast climate.

When is the best time to start a landscape project in Atlanta?

Metro Atlanta projects can be designed year-round. Installation timing often depends on weather, plant availability, and the type of work (hardscape, grading/drainage, planting). We’ll recommend the best window for your scope.
